About Gilda

Since the early age of 8 in her hometown of Iran, Gilda enjoyed using her mother’s sewing machine turning her imagination into the reality of designing party and wedding dresses. Her passion for fashion had been so strong that she had started her own shop by the age of 18.

By the time she moved to the United States in 2007 to become a US Citizen, she had already over 25 years of experience as a seamstress with the ability to custom design and create wearable works of art with nothing more than her vision, thread and a sewing machine.

Eventually getting married and starting a family in the DC Metropolitan area, Gilda found herself getting very involved in the ballet school through which her daughter attended. It did not take long before she found herself lending her talents into the preparation, alteration and repair of a variety of custom made outfits for ballet students and performers alike.

Now with a rekindled inspiration to create through the craft of sewing, Gilda is starting to provide those same services to a larger audience. Specializing in ballet and performance apparel, she has become known for renewing tutus custom dance costumes and other outfits for competition, shows or resale.
